Thomas Stoughton – Education Consulting in Indiana and Nationwide

Thomas Stoughton has served as an education-focused executive in Indianapolis, Indiana, providing research analysis services to educational institutions and organizations based in the state. In addition, as the head of the 501(c)(3) non-profit, Business Consulting Incorporated, until 2015, Thomas Stoughton did work with addiction centers, homeless shelters, and halfway houses.

Stoughton was also in charge of the development of centralized education learning centers and was involved in the creation of the Center for Successful Parenting. Moreover, he played a role in the foundation of the Heartland Film Festival and the transition of the Christian Broadcasting Network into the Family Channel. He also produced the video, Virus of Violence, a network release that was aired in 17 distinct countries.

A graduate of Indiana University with an MS in instructional systems technology, he has experience as a United States Small Business Administration Advisory Council board member. In addition, he is committed to youth education.

Thomas Stoughton – Alleviating Addiction and Homelessness in Indiana

An Indiana education and technology consultant, Thomas Stoughton led Business Consulting Incorporated until 2015. In addition, while overseeing the board of a not-for-profit organization, Thomas Stoughton helped to meet the needs of homeless people and those who had addictions.

One focus of his involved creating centralized education learning centers. He also worked to create a network of Indianapolis area libraries in non-traditional locations such as strip malls and shopping centers. Working with the Indiana Department of Education, he set in place a system framework that was continuously updated. Moreover, thanks to his public policy management expertise, he had the opportunity to play the role of consultant on political campaigns from the senatorial level to the presidential level.

Stoughton engaged in the analysis of research that employed secondary and primary techniques, which ranged from demographic analysis to focus groups. He also participated in a number of projects over the decades, including the establishment of the Heartland Film Festival.

Thomas Stoughton – Helping to Raise Awareness about Media Violence

A graduate of Indiana University with a master of science in instructional systems technology, Thomas Stoughton is an educational and technology consultant. Also dedicated to helping provide necessary social services, Thomas Stoughton has lent his support to halfway houses, homeless shelters, and addiction treatment centers in Indiana.

One of Mr. Stoughton’s other public advocacy projects is raising awareness about the culture of violence perpetrated by some video games. He produced a documentary that aired on Time Warner called the Virus of Violence. Aired in more than a dozen countries, Virus of Violence covers the current level of violence that is pervasive in the media, and hosts a discussion on the societal impacts of early and long-term exposure to violence.

In 1997, Thomas Stoughton also helped establish the Center for Successful Parenting, which acts as a clearinghouse for information on the effects of media violence. The Center aims to educate parents and grandparents on the research surrounding media violence, and equip them with tools to counteract the effects exposure to violent themes can have on children.

Thomas Stoughton of Indiana – Consultant and Community Leader

As a consultant with a background in educational technology, Thomas Stoughton has worked to bring opportunities to businesses and schools in Indiana and across the country. He has cultivated a client list that includes prominent companies such as JC Penney, American Express, and Eli Lilly. Working with the Indiana Department of Education, Thomas Stoughton created a technology framework that continues to evolve.

Mr. Stoughton has developed strategic plans for both public and private organizations. He uses public opinion surveys, focus groups, demographics, and other data sources to craft goal-focused analyses. He has performed this work since the mid-1980s when he served as the public policy management consultant for Indianapolis and Marion Counties.

Dedicated to the support of his community, Mr. Stoughton serves as president of the board of Business Consulting Incorporated, a nonprofit organization that offers educational programs. He is a past board member of the United States Small Business Administration Advisory Committee, and he chaired the board of Progress House, a nonprofit organization that serves Indianapolis residents who are homeless or have addictions.
